In partnership with Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Heritage Bank Center is now proud to offer Sensory Safety Kits for all Heritage Bank Center events including this Saturday's Cincinnati Cyclones Sensory Friendly Night. The Sensory Safety Kits are available to support individuals with sensory sensitivities and their families while attending events at Heritage Bank Center. 

"We strive to make Heritage Bank Center a safe and fan friendly experience for everyone visiting us," said Heritage Bank Center Vice President & General Manager Kristin Ropp. "The implementation of the Sensory Kits hopefully allows those with auditory or visual sensitivity to experience all the programming we have to offer. Everyone at the Kelly O’Leary Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital has been amazing to work with and our staff has grown as a result of their passion for care."

Kits will be available at Guest Relations located behind section 201 in the venue outer-concourse. Guests will need to leave a photo ID as collateral when checking out a complimentary kit. Kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Heritage Bank Center and the Cincinnati Cyclones are the first venue and sports team in Cincinnati to take the initiative to ensure that athletic events such as hockey games are accessible to everyone including individuals with developmental disabilities and their families," said Jen Smith, director of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. "Our kids and families want and deserve the same opportunities to enjoy sports and other community events. We at Cincinnati Children’s are excited to be partnering as the disability experts with the Cyclones and Heritage Bank Center as they strive to support our families out in the community."

Each kit includes an assortment of comfort-based items including:

• A small drawstring bag

• A pair of noise reducing earmuffs

• A pair of antiglare glasses

• A small variety of sensory "fidget" toys

• A communication card

• Sanitizing wipes and tissues

• Identification wristbands, stickers and card

• Venue Map

The kits are designed and fulfilled by Life Is Washable, Inc, a 501C3 non-profit organization specializing in providing family engagement workshops, adaptive sports, and sensory safety kits.
